A family reaches out about music lessons. You reply. Then nothing happens.
They haven’t decided against you. The conversation just stopped, and with enrollment season in full swing, those stalled inquiries are students you’re losing.
In this webinar, music school coach David Martin (former owner of a 1,000+ student, three-location music school) and Marissa Mary Maroni (founder of the 400+ student South County School of Performing Arts and owner of SoundHouse music retail) share how they built follow-up systems that turn inquiries into enrolled students. They cover how fast to respond, how long to keep following up, what to say to get parents excited, and how to make enrollment as easy as possible.
Key takeaways:
- Respond while interest is at its peak: an immediate text and email, then another within six hours
- Silence isn’t a no. Use a hot, warm, and long-term follow-up cadence so you never stop the conversation
- Automate follow-up so every inquiry gets the same treatment, even on your busiest days
- Use emotional language and joyful photos to show parents the result, not just a list of benefits
- Remove barriers to enrollment with trial lessons, phone sign-ups, and paperwork collected later
- Treat current families as your warmest leads, with regular offers to add an instrument or a sibling
