We are thrilled to announce that we have secured a strategic growth investment from Five Elms Capital. This partnership will fuel further development of our platform and accelerate our mission to provide performing arts schools with the best-in-class technology to operate and grow their business. Five Elms’ operational expertise will allow us to expand the scope of opus1.io while preserving the culture of close and dedicated customer service our customers have come to know and love.
Who We Are
I experienced firsthand the daily frustrations of using software that wasn’t designed for the needs of a lesson business.
After years of struggling with outdated and underperforming technology in my own music school, I knew there had to be a better solution. In late 2017, opus1.io was born. We built the platform over the next few years, using it in my school and working closely with early adopters to refine the technology. Within just a few months, opus1.io significantly reduced our administrative overhead and massively increased our enrollment. We knew we were on to something that could revolutionize our industry.
In 2020, we launched opus1.io to the public and it spread virally through word-of-mouth, taking the industry by storm. Since then, we’ve migrated countless performing arts schools to the platform, freeing them from the pain of poorly designed, slow, and inefficient software, so that they may work on their business, rather than in their business.
Our Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and we are honored to have had such a significant impact on an industry that we care so deeply about.
What We Do
We aren’t just a software or a technology platform - we are an end-to-end solution built with a for-us, by-us mentality. Our team consists of music school owners, industry veterans, and technology experts who understand the unique challenges of a performing arts education business.
Our mission is to provide performing arts schools with exactly the tools they need to spend more time growing their business and less time doing busy and repetitive work. Our philosophy is that the mundane, systemic tasks should be handled by technology so owners and operators can focus on the human elements of their business.
Our all-in-one solution helps business owners and their staff simplify customer acquisition, streamline enrollment and retention, automate invoicing and payments, modernize self-service scheduling and rescheduling capabilities, facilitate both internal and external communications in one well-integrated platform…and so much more!
How We Do It
We automate everything that can be automated, remove redundancies from daily tasks, let administrators manage the business from anywhere, and empower business owners with modern and powerful operational tools. This requires the unwavering commitment of a team of talented and passionate engineers, customer success representatives, and industry experts working around the clock to develop, maintain, and support a robust, feature-rich solution.
Our platform is used today by hundreds of performing arts academies, totaling over 175,000 staff, teachers, parents and students on a monthly basis worldwide.
Why We Do It
Operating and growing a small business is hard. Performing arts school owners often get stuck, frustrated, burned out, or worse - end up giving up and shutting their business down altogether.
Our industry has been traditionally underserved, and most end up using software designed for radically different industries (like gyms and yoga studios built for solo teachers) that doesn’t scale, or cobbling together software that doesn’t integrate or communicate effectively. It doesn’t have to be this way and our industry deserves better. Our team has a passion for performing arts and the businesses that make our communities more vibrant by teaching the arts to the next generation. We pride ourselves in empowering business owners with modern, efficient, and easy-to-use technology. And we are just getting started!
What We Plan to Do
Our goal is to be the worldwide leading platform for managing performing arts schools.
To do this, we will be accelerating the development of additional cutting-edge features and capabilities while expanding our customer service and onboarding teams. This funding will allow us to better serve our expanding market and innovate new ways to increase operational efficiency for our industry, leading to the overall growth of the performing arts industry as a whole. Your success is our success.
If you like what we’ve built so far, you’ll LOVE what’s coming next!
Best,
Sam Lellouche
